In the heart of Logroño

It is located in the heart of the old quarter of Logroño, a key city on the Pilgrims’ Route to Santiago de Compostela. This street, whose official name Marqués de San Nicolás refers to D. Diego Orive de Verga, a prominent mayor of Logroño in the 19th century, has witnessed the evolution of the city since its origins. Formerly called Calle Mayor, it is one of the most historic and busy streets in the city, full of buildings with centuries of history and a vibrant atmosphere.

A few metres from the hostel is the church of Santiago el Real, a landmark for pilgrims with its imposing façade and the image of Santiago Matamoros. Other highlights include the Co-cathedral of Santa María de la Redonda, with its baroque towers and an interior that houses a small work by Michelangelo; and the church of Santa María de Palacio, an architectural jewel that stands out for its Gothic spire and rich history. The street is also dotted with stately mansions with noble coats of arms that tell the story of the area’s aristocratic past.

Logroño is also a city that combines tradition and modernity, with parks such as the Espolón, cultural spaces such as the Casa de las Ciencias and a lively nightlife not far from the hostel.
